Customer Reviews of Neato Robotics Botvac D75

During the last 2 yrs I have used a Neato VX-11 and before which i owned, and used, a Roomba. In my experience, the Neato continues to be the highest product in a lower cost. First, the Neato does indeed scan the area and helps to create a “plan.” It vacuums the perimeter from the room then goes backwards and forwards inside a straight pattern to hoover the center. However, the Roomba just bounces round the room slamming into things and altering directions. The Neato does not frequently hit furniture because it “sees” it and can run alongside it. The Roomba jogs my memory of a kid who scribbles extremely outdoors the lines, from time to time coloring up for grabs. The Neato may be the child who traces the lines from the coloring book and meticulously colors within the lines, backwards and forwards, not missing just one place. (See photo from the beautiful straight lines the Neato leaves when finished.)

When compared to VX-11 model, listed here are the greatest enhancements:

– The dust bin! As you can tell from my photos, the bigger dust bin was necessary. As the D75 vacuum is identical size because the VX-11, the dustbin and filter are considerably bigger. It was a issue for mine using the VX-11. In my opinion the bigger dustbin ‘s the reason the Neato Robotics Botvac D75 cleans so a lot better than its predecessor. The D75 doesn’t fill as rapidly and, therefore, doesn’t lose suction from being loaded with debris.

Note: Before you decide to judge my dustbin, I simply had new carpet installed a couple of days prior along with a professional vacuuming job was completed following the install. We’ve been shoeless in the home since. The photo shows just how much crud the Neato was still being in a position to suck up just in one really clean room. Cat hair, real hair, wood chips, ants?!?!? (this is a situation that is going to be handled), sand, carpet, etc.

– The noise. The Neato Robotics Botvac D75 is considerably quieter compared to previous model. It was confirmed by my boy who walked in and immediately commented around the seem, the kitty who did not encounter your kitchen and jump on the top from the refrigerator (because he ALWAYS did using the VX-11), and my mother who stopped by as well as owns a VX-11.

– Maneuvering. The VX-11 would always really go to town a few key places basically did not block them off. Two spots particularly I sitting awaiting the brand new D75 to really go to town. I had been shocked if this managed to get in-and-from the corner using the writing desk making it underneath our ottoman. Our VX-11 would always on-site visit for help basically did not block the desk having a chair and set the ottoman up before vacuuming.

– The cord system. The charging base has generated-in channels that you could wrap the cord directly into shorten and conceal it. This is way better than attempting to shove it behind the charging base making the bottom stand out farther from the wall. Much appreciated from somebody that hates seeing cords all around the house.

– The appearance. While I’m not deeply in love with the enormous blue “Neato” on the top (it does not illuminate), I love it a lot better than the dark grey and orange 80s factor which was happening using the VX-11.

– Battery? Because the VX-11 has ended 2 yrs old, I can not remember the number of rooms it cleaned before it required to recharge initially when i first bought it. The D75 appears to keep going longer but it may be that old battery I’m evaluating it to. The D75 can perform two decent size rooms before requiring they are driving itself to the docking station, without human assistance, to recharge itself and clean all of those other house.

Overall, I’ve been very pleased with the Neato vacuums I have used, especially when compared to competition. The Neato Robotics Botvac D75 is better still than its predecessor because it has needed no human intervention to obtain unstuck and also the bigger dustbin is really necessary. As I haven’t required to call customer care with this vacuum, Used to do need to demand these vacuum and located the client service representative to become patient, useful, and fully met me.

For the last two years I’ve used a Neato VX-11 and before that I owned, and used, a Roomba. To me, the Neato has been the superior product at a lower price. First, the Neato really does scan the room and creates a “plan.” It vacuums the perimeter of the room then goes back and forth in a straight pattern to vacuum the middle. On the other hand, the Roomba just bounces around the room slamming into things and changing directions. The Neato doesn’t often hit furniture as it “sees” it and will run alongside it. The Roomba reminds me of a child who scribbles wildly outside the lines, occasionally coloring on the table. The Neato is the child who traces the lines of the coloring book and meticulously colors in the lines, back and forth, not missing a single spot. (See photo of the beautiful straight lines the Neato leaves when finished.) Compared to the VX-11 model, here are the biggest improvements: – The dust bin! As you can see from my photos, the larger dust bin was much needed. While the D75 vacuum is the same size as the VX-11, the dustbin and filter are significantly bigger. This was a complaint of mine with the VX-11.

I upgraded from the Neato XV. This vacuum is even better. Quieter by a long shot. You can talk on phone or stand in the same room and almost forget it is running. The wheels are louder then the brush. The brush is about an inch bigger and closer to the edge. Has the edge brush for corners. Bigger battery 3600mah vs 3400mah also uses less 12v vs 14.2. Old vac always had to recharge multiple times to do most of house. This does it in one charge. 3b 2.5bath. The dust bin is larger. Filter is larger and has stronger suction. Charger base is redesigned better. Front vac bumper is designed better. The scared cat that hates vacuums will willing come in the room with this one! So amazing.

Neato really is neat-

To the untrained eye it may seem I’m relaxing on the couch, drinking a cup of espresso, and watching “The price is right.” but I’m really vacuuming! The Neato was very easy to set up, the instructions were terse and to the point, but it was easy to follow along and set up the clock, schedule the timing for the daily vacuuming. The dust bin is easy to clean. After cleaning for an hour the neato found it’s way back to it’s docking station and began recharching. During the vacuuming it got stuck once and I paused and emptied the dust bin twice. Otherwise it went flawlessly and really did an amazing job on my tile floor. We are a family of four, with a schnauzer, and we walk in dust and dirt. Right now our street is torn up and nothing but sand, which comes into the house. The Neato did a great job picking up all the debris and dust. Instead of just bouncing back and forth aimlessly, Neato runs back and forth, under furniture, and does along the wall and into corners great. I have it set for 10 daily and it’s been working great. * A little update with a few things I’ve learned from living with the neato.

Improved in performance, but some old issues still linger. Overall EXCELLENT.

I had the Neato XV-21 model that served me faithfully for five years. It finally gave up the ghost and became non-repairable a couple of weeks ago. I tried ordering several other robotic vacuums, but they did not work out. The thing I like about this particular brand and vacuum is that it is a real, actual, honest to goodness vacuum, and not simply a sweeper. And it DOES map out the room. There’s a method to it, even if it looks like madness. When it is done, it looks and it feels like your house has been vacuumed, because it has been. I have standard carpet in the house, nothing too large or stringy, and this vacuum may have been made with that in mind. It does an admirable job at cleaning up, full-stop. It isn’t made to replace your vacuuming, but rather keep you from having to do it a lot. If you create a huge mess, you would want to vacuum it up yourself as opposed to having this machine do it for you. You’ll know when it’s appropriate for you to do it. Other big improvements – the dust bin is markedly improved from the older models in both size and function. The vacuum escapes bad situations it gets itself into better than in the past models.

The best purchase I made for my new home!

This little guy does a lot of work and does it well. I simply pick up my dog’s toys and any stray items before i leave for work and then turn Nemo (the actual name was never pronounced correctly so Nemo stuck instead) on and I come home to clean floors and those beautiful straight lines on the carpet. Instead of just bouncing around like a roomba, Nemo maps the perimeter and then sweeps through the room in a methodical, straight line attack so that the job looks neat and professionally done. Between my hair, my collie’s ridiculous shedding, and generally doggy/shoe dust from the yard, Nemo does a fantastic job! All I have to do is empty the little bin in the evenings and he’s ready to go again the next day. He is a bit loud on my hard floors but since I don’t normally run him while I’m home, that’s not an issue at all. If I am around while he’s running, it just sounds like someone is vacuuming, because that’s what it it- you can’t expect silence. He’s only gotten stuck a few times while navigating around the dining room table & chairs since there are so many legs and once on a slight bump (maybe one inch in height?) from the tile to the hardwood floors.

Like the larger waste bin

UPDATED REVIEW For the first several months, it worked very well. After 10 months the neatobot stopped working. After back and forth with customer care and different troubleshooting suggestions, customer service sent us instructions to return the broken unit for a new one. It took a few weeks, but we received a brand new unit. It worked just as well as the first one for about 10 months before it stopped working as well. Customer care indicated this new unit was not under the 1 year warranty. We like the product, but it hasn’t lasted for our family. We’ve been through 2 beatobots in less than two years. We used the neatobot on hardwood floors throughout our home with low pile rugs and two dogs. We ran it 5 days a week using the programmed settings and regularly emptied the waste bin and maintenanced the brush about every 3 months to remove hair around the brush. For these reasons, I changed the review from 4 stars to 2. INITIAL REVIEW It is a little loud, but very effective. Impressed with it’s maneuverability. Like the larger waste bin. The filter feels a little flimsy, but we’ll see how it holds up. The wheels squeaked for the first two days, somewhat like sneakers on a gym floor.
