This thing sucks…bot it’s a vacuum so it’s supposed to do that.

I’m not sure what some people’s expectations are for a robotic vacuum but from some of the reviews here I think they believe they will cure cancer. Pro tip…they won’t. What it will do is vacuum your house for you and if you’re lazy like me that’s WAY better performance than my 15 year old Dyson DC07…because the Dyson requires me to actually push it around. Does the Deebot have the suction of an upright? No and anyone that expects any robotic vacuum to be able to clean as well as an upright is fooling him/herself. Will the Deebot pick up stuff off the floor before it vacuums? Nope it won’t do that for you either. If you were going to actually vacuum your house you would NOT run over cords. You would NOT just leave the chairs at the table (well not if you really wanted to get everything under there. So why do people expect this or any robotic vacuum to do that? Or deal with the area well if you didn’t doing it? I have my R95 scheduled to vacuum 3 times a week (Monday, Wednesday and Friday at 5:00p), before it runs I pick up stuff on the floor and give it a reasonable chance to do it’s job. Setting it up for success and it hasn’t failed yet.
This is one of the best!

Okay so I’m not sure why there are a lot of negative reviews, it didn’t stop me from buying one and I’m glad it didn’t! This robot is truly one of the best and for what it does and the technology it has the cost is great, the battery last for about just under 2 hours, it also speaks to you when the battery is low. Once you get this in the box the first thing you need to do is turn it on, once you do that you need to set it up with your WiFi via the app which was easy. Once it’s fully charged click on the auto mode from the app and let it scan your house. Once scanning is complete you will be able to use other features in the app for example virtual wall barriers. Yes this robot covers your whole house. Unlike some roombas and other brands that just go into random places and they don’t even clean the whole floor! What’s the point of a $300 Vacuum robot that cant even clean your whole house? Eventually your going to need to pull that vacuum out of the closet and get the places it missed! What’s pretty cool about the app is that it shows you the places that the R95 has been and already cleaned.
Buy this one!!! Tried others.

UPDATE: 2.5 Months later. Network dies on it. Light won’t light up. Tried resetting it and reconnecting it. On setup the little network connection light is supposed to blink showing its trying. It wasn’t lighting up. Im a bit heartbroken. I really liked this thing and thought it was the one to surpass the other. Now its unusable to me. I bought it for the mapping, spot cleaning, knowing where it died, running from work, making virtual walls. So sad. __________________________________________ This is the BEST robo vac ever! I got the iRobot Roomba 890 then the Hoover Rogue 970. Both of the failed me. This one was also far cheaper than the Roomba and better. The two best features: 1: picks up where it leaves off. Both the other ones DON’T. They go so far then the battery gets weak and they return to base happily saying ‘I’m Done!’ when they are Not. I have a large floor plan… Those boots didn’t cut it 2: the mapping features is awesome! Instead of bumping into things to build a map, it does range finding. It even creates rooms from the map! It warns you to return it to base so it dosent lose its map like other bots. Great price, great bot. Also it does mopping too.
Glad I made the purchase

Glad I made the purchase. Easy to set up, and with the app, it was interesting to see the mapping process unfold. The robot needed a bit of supervision during its initial cleaning, but it works methodically and found its way to the charging doc once it was done. In subsequent cleanings, it’s gotten the job done without any fuss. I would just make sure that any cords and tassels on your rugs are out of the way. Happy with my purchase and glad it can take care of business while I’m away.

App loaded onto the several phones fine. The R95 connected fine to the first phone, and the others got the same info once logged into the newly created account. It tells me that there is a server somewhere, that keeps some of the account information. The R95 runs fine but the issue with this setup is the map – the map “completes” only when the robot is finished at least with one job (regardless if the whole floor is clean or there are still uncleaned spots). with “completed” map, the app presents more options, such as Virtual Wall and Box, Spot, Area cleaning… This is all good but the HUGE problem with this set up is that the map is NOT retained locally nor remotely – after painstakingly creating map (in larger houses, or open concept places it may take SEVERAL charging sessions!), the precious map can be lost simply by – – picking up the vacuum off the floor; – moving the charger to a new spot, even a few inches – stopping the cleaning by sending the bot to charger in middle of cleaning – getting stuck on obstacle and losing the charge while trying to free itself There must be a better way of dealing with these maps that take several hours to create, and a split second to lose.
Sometimes, you want to be more like ants

Roboticists have been working on getting robots to walk for decades. It was only recently that they realized the secret: make robots dumber. This is how ants and caterpillars can climb over pretty much anything: they don’t know what they’re doing. All their legs just move, grab, and move on. LIDAR sometimes makes this guy too smart for his own good. It’ll see walls where there really are none, scaring it away from going under the couch. Because it’s smart enough to run parallel to all your walls, it’ll never try the random angles sometimes necessary to get its drive wheels over bumps and thresholds. I will say its maps are lovely, and watching the LIDAR work in realtime is smooth and impressive; surprisingly better than Roomba. The entire iOS app interface improves significantly just by the fact that you registered an R95 on it. The map does persist between cleanings, and you can set up truly virtual barriers and send it to clean your living room (but not any other room) while you’re watching previews before a movie, but there are an annoying and mysterious list of things that’ll cause it to drop the entire map—including your virtual barriers and room names—and start over.
